Hi, I'm Poppy,

Qi Gong means energy work in Chinese. It is a gentle form of exercise, from the same family as Tai Chi. Soft, flowing movements combined with the breath and concentration, bring about a deep sense of well being and calm and you come away feeling immediately more settled and peaceful as you get your 'Qi' flowing. It is a moving meditation, a self healing form of exercise, and has many recognised health benefits. Both the NHS and Harvard Medical School promote the practice. It works along the same principals as acupuncture, where needles are inserted at strategic points on the body- in Qi Gong, movement does the same as the needles, unblocking and releasing 'Qi' to promote a feeling of increased energy and well being. You are tuning into your subtle energetic body, something that one might not be aware of should Qi Gong not have crossed your path before.

YOGA
Hi I'm Kirsty,
Some of you may know me already from the Shaftesbury Wellness sessions over the past four years, if you don’t know me, I can’t wait to welcome you into the yoga session at Sturminster Wellness 2023! My passion is sharing all the benefits that yoga can bring to every body, to give you ways to feel amazing in your body, to find space within the mind to be still and to bring a genuine smile and sense of purpose to the journey you are on.
If you haven't yet experienced one of my yoga sessions, this is what to expect......classes never start like a 'normal' yoga class. We will take time to waken bodies and minds with light-hearted movement and time to have some fun - after all, there is plenty to celebrate being part of a free yoga session!
Then the journey really begins….I will guide you through ways to switch your body on into its most effective alignment, resulting in any stress or tension on the body dissolving and you stepping into a body that feels stable, strong and empowered. We will work through easy to follow natural movements for the body, explore yoga postures that bring a focus into the mind and awaken the whole of your being into the present moment and there you can simply ‘be’.
To finish, you will experience a short guided relaxation to fully restore your mind and body and feel ready to rejoin the world a happier, calmer version of yourself. See you on the mat!!

LAUGHTER YOGA
What is Laughter Yoga?

Laughter Yoga is a fantastic way of keeping fit and healthy whilst having fun. It all started in a park in Mumbai in 1995 with just 5 participants, and now there are thousands of Laughter Clubs in more than hundred countries around the world – just showing the need to laugh more.
Laughter Yoga is based on the principal that your body benefits from laughing even when we pretend to laugh. As long as you are willing to laugh you will get the psychological and physiological benefits of laughter. The good thing is that in our Laughter Exercises the simulated laughter soon turns into genuine, deep and hearty laughter.

It is a combination of deep breathing techniques from Yoga and playful laughter exercises. Usually practiced in groups where you can make eye contact and connect with your sense of childlike fun.

Laughter Yoga celebrated 25 years anniversary in 2020 and throughout all these years tens of thousands of individuals have benefited from this practice all over the world.
Laughter Yoga is now widely accepted by the medical and scientific world, and large organisations are using Laughter Yoga to enhance the wellbeing of their staff.
